Role Summary
The Store Supervisor is responsible for the full operational management of the company’s warehouse and store. This role oversees the reception, storage, dispatch, and inventory of finished goods (paints, solvents, accessories) and raw materials. The Store Supervisor leads the warehouse team and ensures product availability while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance specific to the chemical and paint manufacturing environment.
Key Responsabilities
Inventory & Stock Management
- Supervise the receipt, quality inspection, and proper storage of all incoming goods.
- Manage stock outflows based on customer orders and production requirements.
- Maintain optimal stock levels and trigger replenishment orders in a timely manner.
- Plan and conduct periodic stock counts (monthly, quarterly, and annual inventories).
- Identify and report stock discrepancies, losses, damages, or non-conforming products.
- Ensure full traceability of batch numbers and product references for all paint items.
Warehouse Organization & Safety
- Design and optimize the warehouse layout in line with chemical storage safety standards.
- Ensure proper maintenance of handling equipment (forklifts, pallet trucks, racking systems).
- Enforce storage regulations for flammable, chemical, and hazardous materials.
- Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety across all warehouse zones.
- Implement and enforce receiving and dispatch procedures.
Commercial & Logistics Coordination
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure product availability for all customer orders.
- Coordinate deliveries with carriers and monitor outbound shipments.
- Handle delivery complaints (missing items, damaged or non-conforming products).
- Produce weekly and monthly stock reports for management.
ERP / WMS System Management
- Record and update all stock movements in real time in the ERP/WMS system.
- Generate inventory, stock rotation, and valuation reports.
- Propose process improvements for warehouse management efficiency.
CANDIDATE PROFIL
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BAC+2/+3) in Logistics, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or equivalent.
- Additional training in industrial management or chemistry is an asset.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in warehouse or industrial store management.
- Experience in the paint, chemical, or manufacturing sector is strongly preferred.
- Proven team management experience (at least 2 direct reports).
Technical Skills
- Sound knowledge of stock management methods: FIFO, FEFO, LIFO.
- Familiarity with safety regulations for chemical and flammable product storage.
- Proficiency in ERP software (SAP, Sage, Odoo, or equivalent).
- Good command of Excel for stock reporting and analysis.
- Forklift certification (CACES or equivalent) is a plus.
